ISLAMABAD, Dec 17 (APP):Aqeel Khan continued his dominance at the national level as he annexed another men’s singles title, the 9th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Championships, at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex in Islamabad on Sunday.
The seasoned Aqeel, who is Pakistan’s number one, overcame the promising Muhammad Shoaib 6-2,6-3 to lift the prestigious title. In the boys singles 14 and under final, Abdul Basit came from behind to clinch the title, beating Hassan Usmani 5-7, 6-1, 6-1. In the boys singles 12 and under final, Shayan Afridi outclassed Rashid Ali Bacahani 4-0, 4-2.
Ing. Ladislav Steinhubel, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Pakistan, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, while Asad Saifullah Khan was the guest of honour.
The closing ceremony was also attended by Anwar Saifullah Khan, Javed Saifullah Khan, Senator Farhatullah Babar, Dr Muhammad Tahir, and other notables. The President of PTF, Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, in a message, appreciated the efforts of the PTF management for conducting the event in a highly befitting manner.
