RAWALPINDI, Aug 18 (APP):The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has auctioned two parking plazas in Raja Bazar through an open bidding process, with contracts awarded for three years.
The auction was conducted on the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General RDA Salman Ghani. The facilities included the parking plaza at Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazar, and another opposite the Tehsil Office Rawalpindi.
Director Estate Management RDA Iftikhar Ali chaired the Auction Committee meeting, which was attended by Director Engineering Komal Chaudhry, Deputy Director Finance Ayesha Badar, Deputy Director Estate Management Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Daud and other officials.
Mr Zabiullah was awarded the contract for the Fawara Chowk parking plaza at an annual rent of Rs 64.715 million, while Waseela Enterprises secured the contract for the parking plaza opposite the Tehsil Office at an annual rent of Rs 4.685 million.
The committee reviewed the bids and completed the auction process in accordance with prescribed rules and procedures, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the process.
It was decided that the rent for both parking plazas would be increased by 10 per cent annually.
The parking plazas, located at busy points in Raja Bazar, provide organised parking facilities for citizens, shopkeepers, visitors and commuters.
The RDA administration reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability and efficient management of its assets, saying measures would continue to improve utilisation of its properties and enhance revenue in accordance with rules and regulations.
