ISLAMABAD, Nov 22 (APP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq
has said Local Bodies (LB) election results had validated the mandate of
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and transparency of general
elections 2013.
In an interview to PTV news he said, it had become a habit of
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to level rigging allegations after every
election defeat. PTI accepted results of Khyber Pakhtuankhwa (KPK)
elections and started hue and cry on Punjab’s results where they faced
defeats in most of the constituencies, he added.
The speaker said, PTI was using rigging allegations for their
political survival.
He said, “I accepted the Election Tribunal’s judgment adding that
the tribunal had put the blame on election machinery. I and PML-N was
not made responsible of any irregularity.”
Ayaz said,”I won the elections against Imran Khan in 2002, 2013 and
2015. In by-election Aleem Khan, the PTI’s candidate and Imran Khan were
contesting election against me. I have made hat-trick against PTI which
is not being digested by them.”
He said, “I was so confident after Election Tribunal’s judgement and
decided to go into the court of public as I did not make any irregularity
in general elections 2013.”
To a query he said the opposition was being given more time than
treasury benches during National Assembly proceedings.
To another question he said, he had spent money on election campaign
within the limit allowed by election commission of Pakistan and the
election campaign was mainly run by his friends and supporters. While
PTI’s candidate had spent huge money on the by-election campaign.
The Speaker informed that the courses of parliamentary practices had
been introduced. The recruitment process of National Assembly staff had
been given to Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) aimed at inducting best of the best people.
He said, the media had been allowed for live courage of question
hour during the National Assembly session.
