Load-shedding to be ended by 2018; NA told

ISLAMABAD, Mar 14 (APP): State Minister for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali on Monday apprised the National Assembly that load-shedding from the country would be ended by 2018 due to timely completion of power generation projects in pipeline. Replying to a question, the minister said that Minister of Water and Power had taken various steps in this regard during the tenure of present government which included completion of under construction projects on war footing basis.

UNITED NATIONS, Mar 12 (APP): The United Nations Security Council has endorsed special measures recommended by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to prevent and combat sexual exploitation and abuse by UN peacekeepers. Through a resolution adopted on Friday by a vote of 14 in favour, with one abstention (Egypt), the Council specifically endorsed the decision of the Secretary-General to repatriate a particular military unit or formed police unit of a contingent when there is credible evidence of widespread or systemic sexual exploitation and abuse by that unit.”
