US Ambassador calls on COAS; COAS expresses concerns over recent drone attack

RAWALPINDI, May 25 (APP): The US Ambassador David Hale on Wednesday visited General Headquarters and called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif.

According to an ISPR press release, the situation arising after US  drone strike in Balochistan on May 22, 2016 came under discussion.

“Expressing his serious concerns over the said drone strike,
COAS said such acts of sovereignty violations are detrimental to relations between both countries and are counter-productive for ongoing peace process for regional stability.”

COAS said that Pakistan’s efforts, successes and sacrifices in
fight against terrorism have been unparalleled, it added.
