Sardar Yousaf receives bodies of Jaffar Express attack victims, vows unwavering fight against terrorism

ISLAMABAD, Mar 13 (APP): Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Thursday received the bodies of four martyrs who lost their lives in the Jaffar Express attack at the Islamabad International Airport, where the families of the martyrs and local residents were also present.

The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Mumtaz from Mansehra, Rozi Ali from Skardu Ghanche, Muhammad Usman from Attock, and Muhammad Imtiaz from Sialkot. One of the martyrs, Muhammad Mumtaz, was an employee of the railway department.

All four individuals were among the hostages taken by terrorists before being executed along with 17 other victims.

Expressing his condolences, Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf assured the bereaved families of the government’s full support. He stated that the entire nation, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stands in solidarity with the martyrs’ families during this difficult time.

“The sacrifices of these brave individuals for the defense, peace, and stability of the country will never be forgotten. These sacrifices will not go in vain,” Sardar Yousaf affirmed.

Following the formal proceedings, the bodies were sent to their respective hometowns, where funeral prayers will be held on Friday.

Speaking to the media outside Islamabad International Airport, Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf described the incident as a national tragedy. “The terrorists carried out a cowardly attack on unarmed civilians. On behalf of the Prime Minister, I have received the bodies of these four martyrs. The families of the victims remain resolute, and they have conveyed a strong message that they will stand firm against terrorism.”

He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism, stating, “The government and the armed forces of Pakistan will continue to fight against this menace with full force. We share the grief of the martyrs’ families, and the entire nation stands united for the security and defense of our country.”

The minister also acknowledged the efforts of security forces in countering terrorism, noting that ten terrorists were eliminated in an operation in Tank. “Our security forces deserve the highest praise for their efforts in ensuring the safety of the nation,” he concluded.
