ISLAMABAD, Jun 20 (APP): Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain has applauded the Saudi Government for its exemplary arrangements for pilgrims even amidst intense heat.
During a consultation meeting at the Pakistan Hajj Mission in Makkah, Chaudhry Salik Hussain highlighted that the Saudi authorities had implemented various measures to alleviate the adverse impact of heat, including installing water sprinklers and organizing a system to distribute cold water and beverages.
He also mentioned that mobile health units and dispensaries had been set up at key locations to safeguard the pilgrims’ health.
According to a press release, he said hundreds of volunteers and Saudi forces were deployed at multiple sites to facilitate over 2 million pilgrims to smoothly perform the Hajj.
As regards the reports of Pakistani Hajj Muavineen being absent in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, the minister explained that while the Muavineen were initially positioned at designated intersections, they had to relocate due to overcrowding in those areas. Once the congestion subsided, he clarified that they were redeployed to assist the Pakistani pilgrims again.
