LAHORE, Jul 23 (APP): Federal Minsiter for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Punjab is political citadel of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and it will remain so.

“Punjab’s mandate belonged to Nawaz Sharif and PML-N has reclaimed it today,” she said while talking to media men outside the Governor’s House here on Friday night.

The Information Minister said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan had stolen PML-N’s mandate in 2018 general elections, adding that Imran Khan looted the masses for four years and rendered them jobless.

On Hamza Shehbaz’ election as Chief Minister, she said PML-N’s stance had been vindicated today and it was a memorable day for victory of democracy in the country.

She said the Deputy Speaker had passed the ruling to reject 10 votes in the light of Supreme Court of Pakistan verdict, adding, no member could vote against the will of a party head.

Reacting to Imran Khan’s recent statement, the Information Minsiter said a liar and a wicked politician was signing odes to democracy today, adding that he had breached the constitution through Speaker National Assembly (NA) and the apex court had passed the judgement that Imran Khan committed breach of constitution.

Marriyum said Imran Khan’s narrative was defeated and he was ousted from the parliament, asserting that the PML-N would not let the constitution to be interpreted according to the whims of a person. She said the PML-N would oppose such a move.

She further said Imran Khan unleashed reign of injustice during the past four years as Prime Minsiter, adding Imran put political rivals behind the bars, levelled false allegations, persecuted the mediamen on filmsy grounds but could never prove anything against anyone.

She said Imran Khan has been using indecent language against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Police and the Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly for the past three days while he has termed Deputy Speaker’s ruling unconstitutional today.

“Imran Khan was a miscreant and wanted to create anarchy in the country,” she said, adding the Deputy Speaker had rejected the PML-Q votes on the request of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

She warned Imran Khan not to behave like a pharaoh as reign of Pharaoh’s short-lived, adding that Khan will be treated with his own medicine in future.

She said all was fair when Imran Khan had instructed his party members not to vote against his will but foil when Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain did so, adding PTI Chairman wished to create political instability in the country so that country’s economy did not improve.

She alleged PTI Chairman indulged in political bargaining when he bought loyalties of rival members, adding that Maulana Sharqpuri and Faisal Niazi were PML-N MPAs.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was inciting youth to violence and was guilty of buying political loyalties during 2018 elections.

Hailing Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari’s ruling to reject PML-Q votes as historic, she said the ruling was in line with the Supreme Court verdict.

“Under the constitution, members can’t vote against directions of a party head”, she said,

Marriyum said Imran had made every effort to turn the country bankrupt and create Sri Lanka-like situation in Pakistan.

To a query, she said Imran Khan stole Daska by-elections, PTI workers shot policemen from roof-tops during the long-march, adding that it is law of nature as Imran Khan was reaping what he had sown yesterday.

She alleged PTI wanted to create fissures in the country and divide the masses, adding that Irman Khan wanted to create anarchy and political instability so that there was not economic stability.

Marriyum.Aurangzeb said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was working to bring about economic stability by promoting peace and harmony in the country but a person was bent upon creating polircal unrest.
