ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, hosted multiple events on Sunday to mark Kashmir Black Day, observed annually on October 27.
The day commemorates the struggle and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and highlights their ongoing fight for self-determination.
The event, featured a series of activities, including a photo exhibition and a documentary screening, and a special puppet show.
Each of these segments aimed to present the historical and contemporary challenges faced by the people of Kashmir.
The photo exhibition displayed powerful images capturing the resilience and daily lives of Kashmiris, while the documentary provided a deeper insight into the region’s complex history and the continued resistance of its people.
Among the attendees, Rabia Mansoor, a university student, shared her thoughts, saying “The photographs are heart-wrenching but inspiring. They show not only the struggle but also the strength of the people in Kashmir.”
Fareeha Adrees, a human rights activist, expressed her appreciation for the documentary screening. “It’s essential for events like these to remind the world of Kashmir’s struggle. Documentaries like these bring the reality closer to people who might not know the full picture,” she said.
The puppet show, designed to engage younger audiences, conveyed stories of hope and resilience, leaving many in the audience moved.
“I brought my kids to the show, hoping they could understand the situation in Kashmir in a way that’s age-appropriate. It was both entertaining and educational,” remarked Rehan Khan, a father.
The PNCA’s Kashmir Black Day event concluded with a reminder of Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, while visitors reflected on the powerful images, stories, and messages shared throughout the day.
