ISLAMABAD, Apr 09 (APP):The concluding ceremony of the two-day 8th International Conference on “Research and Practices in Education” was held on Wednesday at Allama Iqbal Open University(AIOU), with Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, as the chief guest.
In his address, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad praised AIOU and said that the topics covered during the conference are vital in addressing contemporary issues and will contribute significantly to the betterment of society.
Speaking on artificial intelligence, Dr. Mukhtar emphasized that Muslims were pioneers in the field of technology, and now it is our responsibility to contribute constructively so that we are not left behind in the race for progress. He urged collective efforts for the welfare of society and humanity, stating that this is the only way to make future generations proud of us.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University, Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, said that the needs of life are rapidly changing, and it is imperative to align education with the requirements of the next 30 years. With the rapid advancement in technology, our thinking time is shrinking, which makes it essential to adopt effective strategies in the field of education. He emphasized that we must consider the future of upcoming generations and ask ourselves whether the curriculum being taught today will meet the needs of the next 10 years. If not, then this is a moment of thought for us. He congratulated the entire faculty for the successful organization of the conference and thanked partner organizations for their role in making the event a success.
Conference Secretary Dr. Zafar Iqbal presented a summary of the event, stating that five national and international keynote speakers presented their papers. He also mentioned that there were 156 oral presentations and 16 poster presentations during the conference.
Conference Coordinator Dr. Muhammad Ajmal said that under the leadership and visionary approach of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, a highly successful conference was held.
