Chinese Cultural Counsellor emphasizes interconnected future of Pakistan and China

ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP):Chinese Cultural Counsellor Chen Ping on Tuesday emphasized the interconnected future of Pakistan and China.
He was addressing as the chief guest at the two-day series titled ‘Pak-China Classical Literature,’ held at PAL for the launch of its latest publications.
He commended the PAL’s efforts in translating literary works.
Chen Ping emphasised the concept of an emerging Pak-China community with a shared future, highlights the significance of cultural and literary exchanges between the two nations.
PAL Chairperson Dr. Najeeba Arif highlighted the academy’s role in fostering Pak-China literary and cultural relations, noting that they have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with China. Under these agreements, the academy has translated three Chinese books, with two more set to be published soon. Additionally, China has published translations of five Pakistani books in the Chinese language.
The session’s President, Iftikhar Arif, underscored the importance of literary ties between Pakistan and China, and emphasised the need to revive exchange visits between writers of both countries.
He highlighted the contributions of writers who, after visiting each other’s countries, documented their experiences in travelogues.

Renowned poet Dr. Waheed Ahmed, Ambassador (retd.) Syed Abrar Hussain, and former president ICCI Zafar Bakhtawari also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the significance of Pak-China relations.
The newly published translations of Pak-China classical literature included ‘Afshaye Raaz,’ ‘Darya-e Hulan ki Kahanian,’ and ‘Men Hawa Mulan hu.’ The ceremony was also attended by delegates of the 10-day Young Writers’ Inter-Provincial Residency Program.
