Budget, blessing for marginalized sections: Marvi

ISLAMABAD, June 5 (APP): Benazir Income Support Programme  (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon has said the budget for fiscal year  2016-17 has prioritized the marginalized segments through allocating sufficient funds for social nets, promoting agriculture sector and  raising minimum wages.

Talking to APP, Marvi Memon said steps like increasing allocation  for BISP upto Rs 115 billion and for Pakistan Bait-ul Mal upto Rs  four billion, besides 10 per cent raise in minimum wages, would improve  the living standard of common people.

The decision to expand road networks for ensuring easy access of agriculture and industrial products to the markets was  positive effort, she opined.

She said the government had taken encouraging steps through imposing more taxes on non-tax payers.
