ISLAMABAD, Sep 27 (APP): Students from Pakistan, like other countries, will participate in the “7th Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp and Teacher Workshop” being organized by the Children and Youth Science Center (CYSC) of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) in the cities of Ningxia and Chongqing of China in November.
The event is co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, People’s Republic of China (MOST) and supported by ECO Science Foundation, (ECOSF), Pakistan, InterAcademy Partnership Science Education Program (IAP SEP), and Network of African Science Academies (NASAC).
According to an official of ECOSF, two teams (one team for one city) are being selected by ECOSF from Pakistan, Iran, Turkiye, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan respectively to attend the camp and the workshop in Chongqing and Urumqi cities.
Each participating team will comprise up to five junior high school science students (aged 13-15) and up to two teachers.
The event will be held from November 5-11, 2023 in two different cities i.e., Chongqing and Urumqi.
The Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp is aimed at strengthening cross-cultural exchange, promoting international understanding, inspiring innovation in the young generation and also for all scientists and science teachers to promote mutual learning and fulfil their responsibilities in science education career, the official conveyed.
The event allows students to cooperate with the best of their age at the international level, to share ideas and to study cutting-edge knowledge in science labs of top schools in China through hands-on experience and teamwork under the guidance of experienced teachers.
The host organizations in China will provide local hospitality which includes hotel accommodation, meals, airport pick and drop and local transportation, whereas, the cost of air travel of the participating team has to be borne by the participating teams themselves.
