PESHAWAR, Aug 18 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority has intensified its campaign against adulterated milk in the provincial capital, discarding more than 53,000 litres of substandard milk during a month-long inspection drive.
The authority tested 1,205 milk samples during the campaign, with 267 samples failing to meet prescribed quality standards. Authorities also imposed fines totalling Rs4.76 million on violators, said the spokesman.
The inspections detected the presence of water, chemicals, caustic soda and formalin in some milk samples, raising concerns over public health and food safety.
