MIRPUR, Aug 04 (APP):Urging Kashmiri masses to observe August 5 as exploitation day, the Jammu Kashmir National Front (JKNF) has said that the day marks the onset of India’s settler colonial project that seeks to control, by all means, Kashmir, its population, and its resources.
In a statement issued here Sunday, JKNF vice chairman Altaf Hussain Wani, while castigating the BJP government for its aggressive designs in the region, said that the August 5 move was an atrocious assault on Kashmiris’ national identity.
Terming it as yet another step in India’s history of colonizing Kashmir The leader of the National Front stated that the colonization of Kashmir has since long been a dream project of the BJP and other Hindu supremacist groups who believe in Savarkar’s Hindutva ideology.
Wani urged the Kashmiri masses to observe a complete shutdown on the day to convey to the world that Kashmiris neither accept India’s illegal occupation of their mother land nor do they accept unilateral decisions the Indian government has taken on and after August 5, 2019.
Condemning in strong terms India’s policies of oppression and suppression to subdue Kashmiris, the National Front leader expressed that the fascist regime has turned Kashmir into an open-air prison where people are forced to live in a state of heightened fear of being killed, harassed, and humiliated.
He, however, maintained that despite using all possible means of oppression, India has miserably failed to suppress Kashmiris’ urge and their passion for freedom.
