MIRPUR (AJK), Jan 15 (APP):Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the State’s capital city to have on-the-spot know-how about the ongoing projects of mass public welfare launched with prime focus for uplift of the city.
On this occasion, Information Secretary to AJK government Sardar Adnan Khurshid and Commissioner Muzaffarabad Division Masood-ur-Rehman briefed in detail to the PM on initiatives taken for the beautification of the capital.
During the visit to Gojra Bypass, the PM directed the concerned authorities to create recreational sites. “Special places for public seating should be created and renovated accordingly so that people could enjoy outdoor life in a comfortable environment”, he added.
He also visited Fatima Jinnah Postgraduate College, Sathra and other areas. The PM directed the authorities concerned to remove illegal encroachments on state land.
“Public parks should be cleaned and facilities should be provided to visitors”, he added.
During his visit to Tahli Mandi, he directed concerned authorities to build a protective wall along the walkway adjacent to Plate. “Walk-view spots should be created along the river Bank right from Tahli Mandi to Sadar Thana so that people can comfortably sit and enjoy”, he remarked.
Along with cleanliness, the PM directed the authorities to install dustbins in all wards after due consultation with local body representatives. He visited Azad Kashmir Radio Station Colony and issued instructions to improve the colony’s parking area.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq visited the shrine of veteran sofi saint Saien Sohaili Sarkar and laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha at the shrine.He also inspected various sections of the Darbar and issued instructions for provision of Langar(food), residence and other facilities to the pilgrims visiting the shrine.
