JHANG, Feb 17 (APP):Punjab’s Focal Person for Polio, Uzma Kardar, launched the “Big Catch Up Drive” in Jhang on Monday, aiming to intensify the anti-polio campaign in the region.
During her visit, Kardar was briefed on the recently concluded anti-polio drive and expressed appreciation for the health department’s excellent performance in achieving their targets.
Deputy Commissioner Jhang Ali Akbar Bhinder was also present at the occasion, where Kardar emphasized the importance of controlling the polio menace.
Kardar urged the media to play a crucial role in convincing parents to vaccinate their children, stressing that collective efforts are necessary to eradicate polio from the region. With the “Big Catch Up Drive” now underway, authorities are hopeful that Jhang will soon be polio-free.
She also revealed that special instructions have been given to district administration and health department officials to monitor progress and ensure that no child under the age of five remains unvaccinated.
