Sarfraz Bugti emphasizes for completion of clean drinking water projects in Dera Bugtii

QUETTA, Apr 17 (APP):Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday emphasized the completion of drinking water  projects in Pir Koh, Dera Bugti.
The Chief Minister presided over a high-level meeting on Thursday to review the progress of drinking water and water supply projects in Pir Koh, Dera Bugti.
The meeting was held to assess the ongoing projects aimed at ensuring uninterrupted access to clean drinking water in the region, especially ahead of rising temperatures.
Secretary of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, Imran Khan Gichki, briefed the meeting on various aspects of the projects.
During the session, the PHE Department’s Summary for New Expenditures (SNE) was approved to enhance the functionality and feasibility of the projects.
Chief Minister Bugti also approved the provision of four water bowsers to address the immediate needs of residents in remote areas of Pir Koh.
Expressing concern over delays in the Pir Koh-Dera Bugti Water Supply Scheme, the Chief Minister issued a directive to ensure its completion by June this year.
He emphasized the urgency of finishing all drinking water-related projects in Pir Koh, Sui, Phailawagh, and Dera Bugti to guarantee the provision of clean water to the public.
“No delay in the delivery of clean drinking water to the people of Pir Koh will be tolerated,” said Bugti, instructing authorities to remove all obstacles hindering water supply operations.
He also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Dera Bugti to take strict action against those damaging water pipelines to prevent further disruptions in the project.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary for Development and Planning Hafiz Abdul Basit, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, and other senior officials.
