PPA organizes 16th Pediatric Neurology Conference

PESHAWAR, Feb 22 (APP):Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) has organized 16th Pediatric Neurology Conference with an aim to enhancing pediatricians’ knowledge and skills in pediatric neurology for better patient care.
The conference featured prominent speakers, including Dr. Syed Bawar Shah, President of the Pakistan Pediatric Association, Dr. Athar Khalili, General Secretary of PPA, and Dr. Shenaz Ibrahim, President of the Pediatric Neurology Group, said a release issued here Saturday.
They emphasized the urgent need to develop pediatric neurology in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in Pakistan stressing the necessity of more trained specialists and improved facilities for children with neurological disorders.
Health Adviser to Chief Minister, Ihtesham Ali attended the event as a Chief Guest assuring support of government for holding academic and scientific gatherings.
He further highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to improving pediatric healthcare including the operationalization of two major hospitals within this fiscal year, establishment of newborn units in DHQ hospitals, development of state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) at MTI Swabi, Nowshera and Women and Children Hospital in Abbottabad.
