Polling continues peacefully in PK-22 Bajaur

PESHAWAR, Jul 11 (APP):The polling process for the by-election on PK-22 Bajaur began at 8 a.m. as according to the ECP schedule, voting will conclude at 5 pm.
Mubarak Zeb, who was elected as an independent, vacated the PK-22 seat after retaining NA-8, prompting the ECP to announce elections for the vacant position.
There are more than 179,000 voters in PK-22, including 99,038 male voters and 79,972 female voters. The ECP DRO stated that 43 polling stations in PK-22 are sensitive, with 23 being declared highly sensitive.
The ECP has established 91 polling stations for the 179,000 voters. Voting started at 8 am and will continue until 5 pm. 11 candidates are contesting in the by-election.
The main candidates include Abid Khan of Jamaat-e-Islami, Nisar Baz of ANP, Rahatullah of Sunni Ittehad, Pakistan People’s Party’s Abdullah, and independents Akhtar Gul, Najibullah Khan, and Mian Habib Gul.
