PFA ceases, destroys over 1,000 liters adulterated milk in Attock

ATTOCK, Aug 09 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Friday seized and destroyed over 1,000 liters of contaminated and adulterated milk in Pindigheb, Attock.
According to PFA Deputy Director Mehtab Khan, the PFA teams set up screening checkpoints at the entry and exit points of Pindigheb City where they examined 18 different vehicles carrying a total of 2,500 liters of milk.
During the screening process, it was found that over 1,000 liters of the milk was tainted and adulterated.
The PFA has imposed a fine of over Rs 52,000 on the milk suppliers whose samples failed to meet the required standards.
The teams detected low levels of lactometer readings (LR), natural fats, and other adulterants in the seized milk.
Mehtab Khan stated that the PFA is taking these actions on the directives of the Prime Minister to eliminate milk adulteration in Punjab and contribute to the Healthy Punjab Mission.
The authority is utilizing all available resources to ensure the supply of safe and pure milk to consumers in the region.
