LAHORE, Feb 19 (APP):Mishal Malik, wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, has expressed grave concerns over the systematic suppression of the Kashmir freedom movement, alleging that key leaders are being imprisoned and subjected to unilateral legal actions.
Addressing a press conference at the Lahore High Court Bar on Wednesday, she emphasized the need for a strong legal strategy to highlight India’s actions at global fora and called for practical steps from the government. “Diplomatic and political efforts alone will not yield results for Kashmir in the absence of a strong legal policy,” she stated.
Malik alleged that India was supporting various terrorist organizations inside Pakistan. She further claimed that her mother was recently poisoned to death, adding that she had received threats from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
She urged Pakistan to expose the activities of the RSS-led Indian government at international forums. She maintained that dialogue with India would be futile unless Articles 35A and 370 were reinstated and all Hurriyat leaders were released. Mishal Malik stressed that Pakistani politicians should take action by organizing large-scale rallies and protests to effectively present the Kashmir issue at global platforms.
Malik further stated that Kashmir’s sacrifices had contributed to Pakistan’s stability, adding that the people of Pakistan recognize and support the freedom movement.
Concluding her address, she reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for Kashmir at every platform and conveyed greetings from Hurriyat leaders to the people of Pakistan.
