PESHAWAR, Jul 09 (APP): The District Police Mardan has announced an extensive security plan to ensure peace and safety during Muharram ul Haraam. Over 1,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed throughout the district.
Special teams, including the Rapid Response Force, Bomb Disposal Squad, Ladies Police, and Elite Force, will be on standby to handle any emergency situations. To maintain the effectiveness of the security plan, police officers’ transfers and leaves have been canceled.
Additional police checkpoints have been set up on all internal and external routes of the district, with special routes designated for traffic flow. Extra traffic police personnel will be deployed to manage the increased movement.
District Police Chief Zahoor Babar Afridi has appealed to the public, minority communities, traders, and religious scholars to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and security.
He urged residents to report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or objects by calling the helpline 15, the control room at 0937-9230065, or contacting the nearest police station.
