PESHAWAR, Apr 09 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Wednesday directed that public grievances related to Wapda during the summer season should be addressed urgently.
He issued these directives during a meeting with Pesco Chief Akhtar Hameed Khan and other officials at the Governor House. SE Zubair Kundi and several other officials were also present.
Governor Kundi emphasized the need to resolve the shortage of transformers before the peak summer heat and called for an end to unnecessary and unannounced load shedding.
He expressed serious concern over growing complaints from Dera Ismail Khan, where electricity supply is being disrupted for hours due to deliberate disconnections.
He also condemned the allegedly harsh behavior of Wapda officials in Paharpur, Dera City, and Parova, labeling it as unacceptable and demanding immediate corrective action.
During the meeting, it was also decided that the long-awaited Band Kurai Grid Station will be inaugurated later this month. The project is expected to ease the load on existing grid stations in Dera Ismail Khan and neighboring areas, improving both power distribution and voltage issues.
