SIALKOT, Mar 04 (APP):Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS), in collaboration with the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) and Rescue 1122, launched the Pakistan Life Savers Program (PLSP), a transformative initiative designed to equip individuals with essential life-saving skills.
The program commenced with an initial training session for focal persons from all departments of GCWUS, ensuring they are well-prepared to disseminate this vital knowledge among students and faculty members.
Vice Chancellor GCWUS Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir highlighted the importance of such training programs in fostering a culture of emergency preparedness and response.
“The significance of Rescue 1122 training cannot be overstated. Empowering our youth and faculty with life-saving skills is a crucial step toward building a more responsible and aware society,” she remarked.
The vice chancellor GCWUS also expressed her sincere appreciation for the efforts of Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman and Ms. Salbia Abbas in successfully organizing the inauguration of PLSP at GCWUS in collaboration with PHEC and Rescue 1122 Punjab.
Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir further acknowledged the dedication of Rescue 1122 scouts, stating, “Their unwavering commitment to this noble cause is truly commendable. This initiative will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on our academic community and beyond.”
As part of the program, satchels were presented to Ms. Rimal Malik and Ms. Fatima Khan, the two student ambassadors of the inaugural batch of the Rescue Student Corps (RSC).
The event concluded with a special tribute to the dedicated Rescue 1122 staff, including Naveed, Mr. Jameel Janjua, Waseem, Abid Raja and Ms. Jannat who were honored with souvenirs in recognition of their invaluable contributions.
GCWUS extended its heartfelt salute to all Rescue 1122 personnel for their selfless service to humanity.
This training not only strengthens the emergency response capabilities of students and faculty but also aligns with the broader vision of empowering the general population with essential life-saving techniques.
