FAISALABAD, Aug 12 (APP):Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Vice President Hajji Muhammad Aslam Bhalli has extended gratitude to PIA and CAA for launching a direct flight between Faisalabad and Medina from August 30.
In a press statement here on Monday, he said that FCCI was pressing hard to restart the Faisalabad-Medina flight to benefit the millions of people residing in and around Faisalabad.
He said that it was the shortest route through which Umrah pilgrims could reach “Haram”
within only 6.30 hours.
Earlier, pilgrims had to spend three hours to travel from Faisalabad to Lahore or Islamabad.
“Similarly, they had to report for check-in three hours before the departure of flight”, he said and added that there was sufficient passenger load available in Faisalabad for this route.
Hence, one weekly flight is insufficient and PIA must arrange at least two weekly flights
from Faisalabad to Medina, he demanded.
He also thanked District Manager PIA and Airport Manager Madam Tasneem Akhtar for supporting FCCI demand for Medina flight and materializing it within a shortest possible time.
