DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jun 18 (APP):The festivities and celebrations continued on Tuesday on the second day of Eid ul Azha as people thronged recreational places, especially on the bank of Indus River in DI khan.
The people thronged to different picnic spots, including parks in the city and on the banks of the Indus River.
The children, wearing colorful dresses, were seen enjoying different swings at the parks. A number of people were also seen demonstrating traditional dances at different spots. The families were also seen enjoying boating on the river. The stalls of different traditional foods set up in bazaars and picnic spots were decorated to attract citizens.
Tight security arrangements were made by the district police, while the district administration also remained active regarding cleanliness.
The Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Dera also continued cleanliness operations to properly dispose of offal of sacrificial animals as the faithful continued slaughtering their sacrificial animals in remembrance of Sunnat-e Ibrahimi.
Meanwhile, the medical and diving teams of Rescue 1122, under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Eng. Faseeh Ullah, were also deputed to different spots along the Indus River in order to avoid any untoward incidents.
The teams created awareness among the people about the risks of bathing in the river, discouraging them from swimming and bathing in the river.
It is worth mentioning here that bathing and swimming in the river and canals were banned by the district administration under Section 144.
