RAWALPINDI, Aug 12 (APP):The “President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari Sports bicycle Rally” organized in connection with Independence Day, reached Rawalpindi on Monday, where it received a warm welcome. The rally, departed from Tehsil Office Gujar Khan at its 6th stage, was seen off by Pakistan People’s Party leader, Khurram Parvez Raja, District President, Tariq Jalil and Tehsil President Amir Khurshid.
It was welcomed at the martyrdom site of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Rawalpindi where it was received by District President Chaudhry Zaheer Sultan, Tehsil President Raja Mansoor Akhtar along with general public and pica administration. The participants were garlanded by the cyclists.
General Secretary People’s Sports Wing Central Punjab, Sabir Ali Kasuri while talking to APP said that the seventh stage of the bicycle rally would start on Tuesday, August 13 from the martyrdom site of Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi, and the rally reach at the Central Secretariat of the Pakistan People’s Party at 10 am same day. He informed that the cycle rally will leave Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad at 2 o’clock. Sabir Kasuri added that the participants of the cycle rally will also participate in the Independence Day celebration in Islamabad on August 14.
It is worthy to note that the bicycle rally of Pakistan People’s Party, under the patronage of the party’s central leader Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, started from Darbar Baba Balhe Shah, Kasur on August 7.
