MIRPURKHAS, Jan 15 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Rashid Masood Khan held a meeting on Wednesday to review arrangements for the upcoming anti-polio campaign in Mirpurkhas.
According to DC office, the campaign scheduled to take place from February 3 to February 7, 2025, aims to administer polio drops to 348,463 children across the district.
DC emphasized the importance of administering two drops of polio vaccine to children from birth to five years, stating that it can save them from permanent disability and urged all stakeholders to make concerted efforts to achieve this goal.
97 fixed teams, 53 transit teams, 249 area in-charges, and 52 UCMOs will be deployed in 1070 mobile teams. Additional teams and personnel will also be appointed as needed.
The meeting attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and health department representatives. Reports on the campaign’s preparations have been sent to higher authorities for review and approval.
This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to eradicate polio following a similar campaign launched in Sindh, where a seven-day anti-polio campaign is set to begin.
