ISLAMABAD, Aug 09 (APP):The anti-terrorism court (ATC) Islamabad on Friday extended the physical remand of former National Assembly member Ali Wazir by three days in connection with a case involving an attack on police officers.
Ali Wazir, a former member of the National Assembly, appeared before the court after completing a six-day physical remand.
The anti-terrorism court Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, extended his remand by another three days.
The prosecution, led by Raja Naveed, requested a twenty-day extension in the remand, arguing that more time was needed to recover a mobile phone and continue the investigation. He argued that the law allowed up to 90 days of remand in terrorism cases.
The Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra remarked that six days of remand was already a considerable period for investigation.
After considering the arguments, the court decided to extend Ali Wazir’s physical remand by three days, allowing further investigation by the police.
