HYDERABAD, Feb 17 (APP):Additional Deputy Commissioner-1 Shaheed Benazirabad Hasaan Zafar chaired a meeting of District Inter-Religious Harmony Committee on Monday.
Addressing the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner said that Sindh government has formed district-level committee to promote inter-religious harmony among all faiths in the district and to solve their problems.
He said that the objective of committee is to maintain peace and tranquility between different sects, resolving any conflict related to faith, stopping forced occupation and encroachment on religious places of different religions and maintaining brotherhood among different faiths.
Additional Deputy Commissioner added that the role of religious leaders is important in steering the society in the right direction.
He said that everyone has to play their positive role for the promotion of inter-faith harmony, religious tolerance and brotherhood in the district while all possible measures would be taken to remove the encroachments on all religious places in the district and to solve the problems being faced.
During meeting the members of committee assured their cooperation to Additional Commissioner. Municipal Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Shaikh, information officer Aijaz Teevino, President Pakistan Minority Rights Commission Lal Chand, Officers of police and other relevant departments attended the meeting.
