SARGODHA, Jul 12 (APP):As many as 7,683 police officers would perform security duties in Sargodha during the Ashura days.
Regional Police Officer Shahrukh Kamal Siddiqui told APP that comprehensive security would be provided to 5,457 majalisis and 1,220 processions across the division on 9th and 10th of Muharram.
He said that 5,457 majalisis and 1,220 processions would be held during the Ashura days in the division. Shahrukh said seven companies of Pakistan Army and nine companies of Pakistan Rangers would also be deployed to meet any untoward situation during Ashura. He said that 5,000 officers and official from different civil institutions were also deployed in the division and they had been assigned different responsibilities in this regard.
The RPO said 3,500 volunteers were also deployed in the division aimed to made foolproof security arrangements. He said that he and all four DPOs of the division would remain in the field and monitor the security situation through mega CCTV system (screen) which has been installed at the security control room. He urged people to remain peaceful and cooperate with police during Ashura days.
