SIALKOT, Sep 09 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Adnan Mehmood Awan has said that a five-day national anti-polio campaign will start in the district from October 2, during which 600,000 children under five years of age will be given polio vaccine.
To make the national campaign a successful, a micro-plan will be formulated to ensure that no child misses out on polio immunization.
He expressed these views while addressing a joint meeting of the District Anti-Polio/Dengue Committees at the DC office committee room.
The deputy commissioner directed the officials of the District Health Authority to start training of mobile, fixed and roaming teams as per the schedule.
He also directed that the scope of dengue surveillance should be widened and all hotspots should be monitored and larval silting should be done in places where mechanical drainage is not possible.
The DC instructed officers of all government departments participating in the meeting to conduct Android-based dengue surveillance regularly.
