LAHORE, Jan 09 (APP):The police intensified its crackdown against the use of metallic string and kite flying.
In the latest operation, 33 individuals had been arrested and 32 cases were registered.
According to a spokesman for the police, a total of 64 kites and 26 spools of metallic string
were recovered from the accused.
Meanwhile, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana directed the police to intensify the campaign
against those involved in the kite-flying business. He added that special measures had
been implemented to prevent incidents related to kite flying.
Those involved in manufacturing, selling and using metallic strings and kites were being brought
to justice. Those involved in the deadly trade of metallic strings and kites would be prosecuted
through courts.
Bilal Kamyana directed strict monitoring of the online sale of kites and strings and called for
special measures to stop transportation of raw materials used in kites making at city’s entry points.
