ISLAMABAD, June 5 (APP): Senator Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qayyum Friday said the present budget would bring relief for the masses in true essence keeping alive the traditions of a democratic government.
Talking to APP after announcement of budget outside Parliament house, the senator said the government had focused on facilitating the masses by reducing tax on fertilizers and medicines and allocating a major chunk
budget for development of infrastructure, roads airports, ports etc.
Abdul Qayyum said the budget had focused farmers and agriculture sector as the country based on agriculture sector could not flourish until its farmers are stable.
Through these initiatives, he said the government was in effort to create an enabling environment to boost economic activity in the country which would play vital role in growth of different sectors.
The government’s endeavours to strengthen economy would create a positive impact on overall development, he added.
The governemnt was trying to bridge the gap between rich and poor by giving incentives to common man and increasing taxes on privileged class.
