Miftah proposes tax rationalization on coal import

ISLAMABAD, April 27 (APP):Minister for Finance Dr Miftah Ismail Friday proposed rationalizing tax rate on import of coal and maintaining the duty rate at four percent.
Presenting federal budget for the year 2018-19, he said currently tax on import of coal was payable at the rate of 5.5% for companies and 6% for persons other than companies.
“In order to decrease cost of production it is proposed that the rate of tax may be reduced to 4%,” the minister said.
