ISLAMABAD, June 3 (APP): The Federal Government has
allocated Rs 1109.249 million for 15 development projects of Information Technology and Telecom Division in the Public
Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year
2016-17.
According to the budgetary document released on
Friday, the government has specified Rs 1109.249 million for 15 development schemes of the division out of which Rs 898.24 million would be spent on 12 ongoing schemes while Rs 211.225 million earmarked for three new schemes.
In the document, Rs 230.000 million have been allocated
for construction of Cross-Border OFC System between China and Pakistan for international connectivity of Voice/data traffic (SCO) (CPEC Related) and Rs 300.000 million had been designated for Replacement of GSM Network of AJK (SCO).
A sum of Rs 128.579 million has been earmarked for Laying of OFC to connect Remote Locations of AJK and Gilgit Baltistan.
In new schemes, Rs 151 million had been earmarked for
Technology Parks Development project at Islamabad Phase-I
while Rs 50.0000 million has been allocated for provision of
seamless GSM coverage along KKH for proposed Gawadar-
Kashighar Economic Corridor in Gilgit Baltistan.
For Gilgit Baltistan Rs 10.000 million has been allocated
in PSDP for Expansion and Up-gradation of GSM network.
