ISLAMABAD, June 3 (APP): The government has earmarked Rs 11997.820 million under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2016-17 for different new and ongoing schemes of the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms.
According to PSDP 2016-17 released here Friday, Rs 1405 million have been allocated for 15 new schemes and Rs 2911.212 for 17 ongoing schemes besides Rs 7681.608 million for other requirements.
The new schemes included Capacity Building of Economics/Development Journalists, Center for Rural Economy, Center of Excellence for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Cluster Development Based Agriculture Transformation Plan – Vision 2015, Construction of Plan House in Administrative Sector, Islamabad, Establishment of Pakistan Urban Planning and Policy Centre, Feasibility Study on Cluster Development Based Mineral Transformation Plan – Vision 2015 (PC-II), Integrated Energy Planning and Management Unit, Integrated Transport Infrastructure Planning and Management Unit, Pak-China year of Friendly Exchanges Programme (CPEC), Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad – Construction of New Campus, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad – Land Acquisition and Site Development, Pakistan Productivity, Quality Innovative Initiative, PPMI Centre of Excellence and Research Study on “Cluster Development Based Industrial Transformation Plan – Vision 2025 (PC-II).
The ongoing schemes included China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Support Project, Development Communication Project, Establishment of Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, Islamabad, Establishment of Environment Section in Planning and Development Division, establishment of Special Project Cell, Islamabad, Inspector General Development Projects, Balochistan (Phase-II) Quetta, Institutional Co-operation Programme, Islamabad, Institutional Strengthening and Efficiency Enhancement of Planning Commission, Monitoring of PSDP Financed Projects, National Endowment Scholarships for Talent, National Initiative for SDGs/Nutrition, Reform and Innovation in Government for High Performance, Restructuring Pakistan Institute of Development Economics to function as a world class centre of Excellence for Research and Post Graduate Teaching by improving infrastructure and building capacity, support and Monitoring of High Impact New Initiatives of Vision 2025, Upgradation of Jawaid Azfar Computer Centre, Upgradation of PPMI (Phase-II) and Young Development Fellows Programme.
A sum of Rs 1500 million and Rs 6181.608 million have been earmarked for Research/Holding of Workshops and Technical/Feasibility Studies and Un-Funded/Under Funded Important Projects respectively.
