ISLAMABAD, Mar 17 (APP):Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa met with a high-level delegation from KPMG, a global consultancy firm, here on Monday aimed at boosting Islamabad’s infrastructure and tourism sector.
The meeting, attended by CDA board members and senior officers, focused on the operationalization of the Gandhara Citizen Club and the construction of five-star hotels in the federal capital.
During the discussions, Chairman Randhawa emphasized the need to expedite efforts to make the Gandhara Citizen Club operational while improving its governance and legal framework.
KPMG, which is providing consultancy services for the project, was directed to submit a comprehensive report at the earliest to facilitate legal approvals from relevant forums. It was revealed that the draft regulations for the club have already been prepared.
Chairman Randhawa highlighted that the revenue generated from the Gandhara Citizen Club would be utilized for the development of F-9 Park and public welfare initiatives.
He also stressed the importance of accelerating uplift work at F-9 Park, a key recreational space for Islamabad residents.
In a move to promote the hotel industry and tourism in Islamabad, the CDA chairman instructed KPMG to prepare a feasibility report for the construction of five-star hotels in the city.
The CDA’s Planning Wing has already conducted a detailed market study and prepared an initial report, which will be shared with KPMG to ensure the feasibility report is comprehensive, actionable, and compliant with legal requirements.
Chairman Randhawa appreciated KPMG’s technical expertise and assured that the firm’s capabilities would be fully utilized to ensure the financial viability of CDA’s projects.
He noted that there is considerable investor interest in funding development projects in Islamabad, particularly in the hotel and tourism sectors.
He added that the CDA is implementing business-friendly policies to attract investment and foster economic growth in the city.
“The CDA is working tirelessly for the development of Islamabad and to provide world-class facilities to its citizens. We are committed to supplementing these efforts with innovative measures and partnerships,” said Chairman Randhawa during the meeting.
