SIALKOT, Feb 21 (APP):The Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA) Sialkot on Friday successfully organized a Business Workshop on Responsible Fashion: Global Market R&D Trends & Opportunities for Sialkot’s manufacturers at PHMA Sialkot.
This 4th session in the RBH-GIZ series drew 20+ PHMA member representatives, highlighting the industry’s growing focus on sustainable fashion and market trends.
A distinguished expert in textile and fashion design, currently serves at the Textile Institute of Pakistan and was a member of the Responsible Business Helpdesk Task Force by GIZ Dr. Umair A. Siddiqui shared insights on R&D trends sustainability initiatives and sportswear fashion opportunities.
Key topics included ethical sourcing, fair labor practices, circular economy principles, and regulatory changes affecting manufacturers.
The session also covered green manufacturing,recycled materials and digital design tools to enhance competitiveness.
Before the session,PHMA Sialkot and Dr. Siddiqui signed an MoU, ensuring specialized support in responsible fashion,market trends and business growth for PHMA members.
This partnership aims to equip local businesses with the knowledge needed to meet international standards and access high-value markets.
