PESHAWAR, Jun 25 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Forests, Fazal Hakeem Yousafzai has imposed a ban on cutting in private woodlots and certain forests of the province.
The decision to this effect has been taken due to concerns and reservations of people and civil societies regarding wood cutting in forests. The ban has been imposed under Private Woodlots Rules 2017.
Monitoring teams would also be constituted to implement rules and to monitor wood cutting according to approved working plans. The public would also be informed reasons and objectives of wood cutting.
The minster has also directed to ensure transparency in the whole process and take effective measures to implement ban.
