Polyclinic extension project to have best medical facilities for commom man: Tariq

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (APP): Minister of State for Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD), Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Monday said that under the Polyclinic Extension project, a 1200 bed facility state of the art hospital is proposed to be built.

Chairing a meeting of steering committee on Polyclinic Extension Project, he said that this hospital would have world class medical facilities for common man.

Shortlisted engineering and design firms presented details of
designs for the construction of hospital building during the meeting.

The best design would be selected and final award of the
contract would be done after completion of technical and financial assessment of the proposed designs according to the procedures notified by the Government of Pakistan.

The Minister of State directed the Project director to complete the process for design approval with minimum possible time so that actual construction work could be started.

He said that soon the earth breaking ceremony of the project would be held with the Prime Minister as Chief Guest.
The Steering Committee was briefed that during first phase of the project, new building is proposed to be built on recently acquired land of Argentine Park so that existing hospital can be shifted to new building.

In the second phase, new blocks will be constructed at the
place of existing old building.

Secretary CA&DD Hasan Iqbal, Additional Secretary, ED Polyclinic, Project Director and officer from Pak PWD participated in the meeting.
