Profane film issue to be raised at UN: Pervaiz Elahi
LAHORE, Sept 23 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday said that the Federal Cabinet had decided to raise the issue of the profane movie at the United Nations (UN).Talking to media persons, Pervaiz Elahi said that the issue would also be discussed at the OIC.Responding to a question, he said that Islamabad had not much strength of police and it needed provincial support for maintaining law and order. But the lack of coordination created the problem.  “Everybody has a right to protest against the heinous act.Only a lack of coordination affected the cause of protest,” he added. He said the protests had given a message to the world that all Muslims were united and would not let anybody desecrate the Holy Prophet (PBUH). “But it could have a bigger impact if the protest had been without violence,” he added. He said action would be taken against those who had damaged public property. “The law and order situation in Punjab is very poor and businesses of the people are being destroyed in the name of development,” he added.
