Kaira flays politically motivated case against PPP leader
OSLO, Norway, Sep 3 (APP): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday condemned registration of a baseless case against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Shaukat Basra.The Information Minister, in a statement, said that politically motivated cases and victimization were not new for the PPP workers, who could not be deterred by the Punjab government through such tactics.He said that by the registration of a politically motivated case against Basra, the PML-N wanted to reintroduce the culture of “political prisoners” in the country.Kaira said that the PPP government had introduced the culture of reconciliation and tolerance in the politics but the Punjab government was trying to reintroduce the trend of political opponents’ persecution.The minister said that the PML-N could not stop the PPP workers from raising voice for the people’s rights.
