Dr. Firdous laments use of undignified language by CM Punjab against President
ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (APP): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday said Constitution should be respected and it was below the dignity of Chief Minister Punjab to use undignified language against the President of Pakistan while holding a constitutional office. Talking to a private television channel, the Minister said the constitutional way to remove a president is to bring an impeachment motion in the parliament. She said politicians never become afraid of public meetings as it is also an opportunity for them to recharge, motivate and mobilize their party workers. Public meetings are a health sign for democracy and continuity of democratic process and a chance for leaders to put their agenda before the nation, she added.
The Minister said it is wishful thinking that President Zardari would leave his office with just rallies and hollow slogans.
PML-N has only been giving dates but the PPP government is entering its fourth year, she noted.
She asked whether Shahbaz Sharif would leave his office with the pressure mounted by Imran Khan through mobilization and public meetings.
She said in democracy, a government can be changed with the right of vote and not through street agitation.
The Minister said she was happy that people have broken their chains and announced their freedom from the Raiwind estate.
PPP is in a state of mourning after the death of Begum Nusrat Bhutto but afterwards it will also be in the field as was done by Imran Khan by holding a public meeting in Lahore, she added.
The Minister said PML-N meeting was attended by government employees and not by political workers.
