PM terms Chinese premierís visit significant in opening new vistas
pm_parlimantarian.jpgISLAMABAD, Dec 20 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday said that the visit of Chinese Premier to Pakistan was very significant as it had not only further cemented the close ties between the two countries but also provided opportunities to open new avenues of cooperation in diverse fields.He added that Chinese investors had shown keen interest in the energy, telecom, agriculture and many other sectors which would bring large investment to the country besides opening vast opportunities of employment.The Prime Minister was talking to ministers and parliamentarians, including Minister for Textile Industry Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed  Khan, Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar, MNAs, Faryal Talpur, Farhat Khan and Mian Tariq Habib, who called on him separately at his Parliament House Chamber here.
The Prime Minister appreciated the parliamentarians for according a befitting welcome to the Chinese Prime Minister on his arrival to address the joint session.
He thanked all the political parties for expressing unity in consolidating friendship with China.
The Prime Minister said the frequent exchanges of delegations between the two countries, especially the parliamentarians were very important as they would further strengthen people-to-people contact.
The Prime Minister said it was the duty of parliamentarians to closely monitor the development assistance being provided by the friendly countries to ensure the maximum and efficient utilization of the aid. He added that it would enhance the credibility of the government and people of Pakistan in the eyes of their international friends.
Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed Khan, Minister for Textile Industry presented cheques of Rs. 2.2 million to the Prime Minister in the flood relief fund being contributed by the workers of the textile industry.
The Prime Minister thanked the gesture of the workers of the textile industry.
