PM Nawaz, Qatri PM witness aerial display of JF-17 Thunder, Mashshak aircraft -

DOHA, Qatar, Feb 9 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasir bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Wednesday witnessed a spectacular air show of JF-17 Thunder and Super Mashshak aircraft here at Doha Airbase. Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, who was also accompanying the Prime Minister on a two-day official visit to Qatar, members of royal family along with officials of Qatari air force, military officials and contingent of Pakistan Air Force also witnessed the air show.



Pakistan, Qatar ink Long Term Sale Purchase Agreement -
DOHA, Feb 10 (APP): Pakistan and Qatar on Wednesday inked an agreement for supply of around US one billion dollars worth of Liquified Natural Gas to Pakistan annually to help the country meet its energy shortfall. The agreement on Long Term LNG Sale and Purchase was signed during the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's two day visit to Qatar. Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chairman of Qatargas Board of Director Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi signed agreement at a ceremony at Diwan-e-Emiri.


Pakistan, Qatar sign four MoUs in energy, health, radio, television, academic research activities -
app75-10pm-doha.jpgDOHA (Qatar), Feb 10 (APP): Pakistan and Qatar on Wednesday signed four Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) including a long term LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement, cooperation in the fields of Radio and Television, Health and Academic Research activities. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. The first MoU about cooperation between the two countries in radio and television was signed by Special Assistant to the PM on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Minister of Qatar Muhammad bin Abdurrehman Al-Thani.



Pakistan, Qatar ink multi-billion dollar LNG deal -

DOHA (Qatar) Feb 10 (APP): Pakistan and Qatar on Wednesday inked multi-billion dollar Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) deal that would enable the energy-starved country to import natural gas for 16 years and to meet its energy requirements. The historic signing ceremony of $16 billion LNG sale and purchase deal was held here between Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources of Pakistan and Qatar Petroleum. The agreement was signed by Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chairman Qatargas Board of Director Saad Sharida.

app73-10pm-doha.jpgDOHA (Qatar), Feb 10 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said Pakistan is an ideal destination for investors and called upon the Qatar Investment Authority to explore the opportunities in Pakistan's oil and gas sector. The Prime Minister expressed these views in a meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held here at the Aiwan-e-Emiri. Prime Minister Sharif said Pakistan and Qatar enjoy strong fraternal relations.

Age no barrier for Pakistani players in 12th South Asian Games
ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): Age is just a number for the Pakistani table tennis team for the 12th South Asian Games which is taking place from 5 February to 16 February 2016 in Guwahati and Shillong, India. They have the 45 plus duo of Shabnam Bilal and Raheela Khalif, who helped the women's team win the silver, 12 years after they had claimed the same feat at the Games' 2004 edition in Islamabad.

 
England to face Pakistan in 5th place playoff in U19 CWC
KARACHI, Feb 10 (APP): England demolished Namibia by 203 runs on Wednesday to set up a clash with Pakistan for the fifth/sixth position playoff in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2016. England, which lost to Sri Lanka in the quarter-finals, piled up 286 for nine after being sent in to bat in a match reduced to 48 overs a side due to murky weather in Fatullah.

Rookie Nawaz, Rumman in Pak team for Asia Cup & World T20, Shahzad, Gul axed
KARACHI, Feb 10 (APP): National selectors Monday named rookie all-rounder Muhammad Nawaz and southpaw paceman Rumman Raees in their 15-member squad for the upcoming ACC T20 Asia Cup and ICC World T20. Opener Khurram Manzoor was also recalled in the national squad with Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed. No specialist spinner included in the team.

 
Pakistan Judo team to depart for 12th South Asian Games on Thursday morning
PESHAWAR, Feb 10 (APP): The 15-member Pakistan Judo Federation would depart for India to participate in the ongoing 12th South Asian Games’s judo event on Thursday morning. Talking to APP, Secretary General Pakistan Judo Federation, Masood Ahmad said the Pakistan Judo Team consisting of 4 officials, 1 Technical Official, 6 male and 6 Female Judokas.

KARACHI, Feb 10 (APP): The World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim, has reiterated the organization's goal of tackling the extreme poverty, inequality besides improving the lot of the underprivileged people around the world. He was addressing the students at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi at its City Campus on Wednesday. The address was streamed through video link to the students of around 75 universities in the country.

Recognizing the critical importance of increasing energy security and access in a clean, sustainable manner, the United States has committed more than $1 billion to date to support energy sector investments and reforms in cooperation with the government of Pakistan.

SHEIKHUPURA, Feb 10 (APP)- A collision between a car and a truck on early Wednesday killed ten people including school going children at Maanawala road near here. According to eyewitnesses and locals, in the thick fog a speeding car hit a truck loaded with LPG (liquified petroleum gas) in the precincts of Maanawala police station, Kotwaar area. A huge fire erupted immediately.
