BEIJING, Apr 20 (APP): Vessels from seven countries, including Pakistan, arrived at the port of Qingdao in East China’s Shandong province Sunday morning, ahead of the 14th annual meeting of Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS), which the PLA’s navy is expected to launch on Tuesday, media report said.

No food left in besieged Palestinian refugee camp in Syria: UN -
UNITED NATIONS, April 20 (APP): The United Nations has renewed its  demand for unimpeded humanitarian access to the besieged Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk, warning that there is no UN food aid left there as  escalation in the Syrian conflict prevented the delivery of desperately needed assistance.

ISLAMABAD, April 10 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday approved Rs 500,000 each as compensation for the families of those who were killed in the Islamabad Sabzi Mandi blast. According to a Prime Minister’s Office statement issued here, the injured would get Rs 75,000 each. As many as 24 persons were killed and dozens injured when a bomb ripped through the Islamabad’s Fruit and Vegetable market on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD, April 10 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain Thursday signed an ordinance to rename the Federal Judicial Academy as Centre of Excellence for Law and Judicial Education and grant it the status of degree awarding institution. The President signed Federal Judicial Academy (Amendment) Ordinance 2014 on the advice of the Prime Minister. The Ordinance would also help enhances its functions to offer programmes for the study of law specialized courses in specific disciplines and judicial education and training.
