Govt announces 15 pc ad-hoc relief to govt servants in budget PDF Print E-mail

LAHORE, June 16 (APP)- Punjab government has announced 15 per cent ad hoc relief allowance for in-service government employees and 15 percent increase in net pension of retired employees from July 1, 2009 in the provincial budget 2009-10. Punjab Finance Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira announced this in his budget speech during the 13th session of the house here Tuesday. Speaker PA Rana Muhammad Iqbal was chairing the session.

The minister said that the raise in the salary and pension has been taken keeping in view the inflation and price hike in the country.

He said that the government was committed to change ‘thana culture’ and maintain law and order in the province and for this purpose an amount of Rs eight billion has been allocated in the budget 2009-10.

The government had also enhanced ‘Risk’ allowance equivalent to one salary of the policemen besides raising the daily allowances of the employees in year 2008-09.
