Ch. Nisar takes oath as Federal Minister

ISLAMABAD, Jun 7 (APP): Following is the profile of senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, who took oath as Federal Minister here on Friday.
Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, born on July 31, 1954 at Chakri village in Rawalpindi District, has been consecutively winning from Rawalpindi for more than 25 years and is considered to be a stalwart of the party.
He has won general elections, 2013 and now become part of Federal Cabinet.
Ch. Nisar served as Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, elected for the office on September 17 2008.
Starting his career in the national politics in late 1980s, Ch.  Nisar been elected an MNA eight times in 1985, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1997, 2002 and 2008) - from NA-52 (Rawalpindi-III) in 2002 and 2013 and from NA-53 (Rawalpindi - IV) in 2008.
He is among those politicians who have never lost their home town seats since 1985.
Previously, he served as Minister for science and technology from June 9, 1988 until December 1, 1988. He also served as Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources in two non-consecutive terms from 1990-93 and 1997-99.
He participated in 2002 elections as non-partisan and joined the opposition parties in the Parliament. After successfully contesting in the 2008 parliamentary elections, he was appointed as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and assumed the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on October 19, 2011 but resigned on November 28, 2011.  In general elections 2013, Nisar won his seat from Constituency NA-52.
Nisar Ali Khan is an alumnus of Aitchison College. In his political career, he took oath for as the National Assembly seat on March 24, 2008. From March 31, 2008 to May 12, 2008, Khan was a senior minister and held the portfolios of Ministry of Communication and Ministry of Food and Livestock (MINFAL).
Khan has previously served as Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, and Provincial Coordinator during 1990 - 1993 government of PML (N). From 1997 - 1999 government of PML (N), he was again Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister. 

 

Pervaiz Rashid takes oath as Federal Minister


ISLAMABAD, Jun 7 (APP): Senior leader Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz  Senator Pervaiz Rashid Friday took oath as federal minister.
Pervaiz Rashid who took oath as federal minister along with 15 fellow federal ministers and nine ministers of state at President House was born in Rawalpindi and studied at Gordon College Rawalpindi.
He remained Chairman Pakistan Television Corporation from 1997 to 1999. In March 2009 he was elected as senator for six-year term. Pervaiz Rashid also served as active member of Senate’s Standing Committees on Information and Broadcasting,Petroleum and Natural Resources,Information Technology and Telecommunications, Railways and Functional Committee on Human Rights.

 

 

Saad Rafique takes oath as Federal Minister

ISLAMABAD, Jun 7 (APP): Following is the profile of central leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Khawaja Saad Rafique, who took oath as Federal Minister here on Friday.
Khawaja Saad Rafique, born on November 4, 1962 in Lahore, has been elected as Member of National Assembly since 2002 and was re-elected in the general elections in 2008 from Lahore.
He was the Federal Minister for Culture with additional portfolio of Youth Affairs for four months.
He graduated from Government M.A.O College Lahore in 1984 and received his masters degree in Political Science from Punjab University in 1986.
Khawaja Saad Rafique has served as MPA in Punjab Assembly for the term of 1997-1999.
He also served as Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Youth Affairs during 1999. He is also father of a son and two daughters.
